Virtual Materials Group (VMG) - The best simulation software development team and the best technical support group in the industry VMGSim - Comprehensive, Fully Interactive process simulation for oil, gas and chemical industries VMGThermo - Power your Engineering Calculations with the Plug-In thermo standard from VMG
Announcing VMGSim Version 3.2
New Reporting Tools VMGSim makes it easy to display the most relevant information of a collection of objects such as unit operations, streams, controller, or information unit operations in a tabular format using the Summary Set tool.
New Unit operations A new Plasma Gasification unit operation is introduced in this version after extensive field testing by some of the leading companies in the use of this technology. The model includes complete atomic balances, detailed equipment options and extensive pre-built kinetic parameters for the main carbon reactions and necessary options to model product distributions.
New Thermodynamic Methods Virtual Materials Group new Gasification property package is also introduced in this version. Accurate absolute enthalpies of gases and solids necessary for the modeling of this new important class of problems is provided together with phase change data for metals and inorganic oxides, and closely integrated with our new Plasma Gasification unit operation. The new NH3FlueGasTreating property package is available with this release uses a rigorous electrolytic model to simulate the reactions in liquid phase based on VMG.s proven Amine model.
New Flowsheeting tools Support for Microsoft Excel 2007 Customizable Microsoft Word Template
New Dynamic features Split range controller Generic fire formula for depressuring studies New heat transfer expressions for horizontal tubes Reciprocating compressor Beggs and Brill correlation in pipes NEMA B curve support for modeling electric motors

We are a chemical engineering software company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, focused on developing high quality and cost-effective process simulation and thermophysical property software for the process industries. Virtual Materials Group (VMG) was founded in 1996 by a talented group of engineers and computer scientists previously involved in the Hyprotech project. The group brings extensive (15-40 years each) experience in thermodynamics, process simulation and software development. Our team has expanded rapidly and incorporated local offices across the globe that bring a wealth of experience and a proven track record of engineering software deployment and technical support. VMG places great importance on the quality of thermophysical properties, whether deployed directly in VMGSim or when VMGThermo is deployed as a plug-in thermophysical property engine. We take great pride in providing proven, validated and robust thermo-physical property prediction packages for the hydrocarbon, chemicals and petrochemical industry. Our thermodynamic models are backed by extensive experimental data and support provided by our knowledgeable technical support team. Our flagship product VMGSim™ is the modern process simulation system that integrates a state of the art flowsheeting kernel with Visio™ for ease-of-use and powerful graphics capability and Excel™ for seamless bidirectional spreadsheet calculations. The power of VMG's thermodynamic packages drives the core of VMGSim. VMGSim provides affordable steady-state process simulation with uncompromising quality backed up by Virtual Materials Group's expertise and technical support. VMG also provides high level consulting in thermodynamic model development and custom process simulator development. For more information or to talk to one of us, please visit the Contacts page.
